Baugh changed the way the game was played; he was a punter, defensive back, and quarterback all at once. Jurgensen was perhaps the purest passer the franchise ever had. Theismann won the Super Bowl and was an MVP. It is a tough debate that spans decades of different styles of football. To this observer the finals tournament of 2026 is too big. Everyone being invited to the party because it’s ‘fair’ does nothing for quality and I predict a tournament largely of dross no better than a European tier three league game, interspersed with the odd diamond sparkle.
