But NFL rookies, even highly drafted ones, get a 4yr contract (1st rounders have an optional 5th year) that pay them a relatively cheap salary. So you get 4-5 years of cheap play while they are very young. Once that contract ends, they have to sign a new one/be extended. In that time, one of two things will be true: A) they will be a middle or poor player that will get an appropriate salary. That doesn’t mean they’re useless, but they probably aren’t changing your fortunes. I think it’s boring too but everyone has different interests. Personally I like baseball and basketball but can’t stand to watch football I don’t understand it.
