You can step back instead of driving in if you have grips and if he steps time the reap of his lead leg as he is putting it down. People with standing grappling experience won’t take that bait / but it is ok for self defense where lay people have higher hips and won’t understand what you are doing. If you are in an arm and collar tie you can push with the collar tie elbow into his shoulder joint. You can’t actually push somebody this way but what you are hoping for is that he either braces and you can step back or his is loose enough that you can get some movement in him given you enough to enter for the throw. You kind have to read his reaction to the elbow push. Yout can’t think of it as an elbow strike, but more like a soft push. Turning in a circle while gripping up can give you the abiltiy to time the throw with putting down his leg that is stepping in the direction of the turn. If you turn and can’t turn him it lets you know the throw is a wash before committing to it.You can throw a knee as a fake and as you put the foot down you have an entrace for osoto gari. It is always a simulation (not a sparring technique per se) but in theory the person may shoot their hips back or bend over a bit to accomodate the knee which gives you a good off balancce to play with. I don’t want to say I called this, but I called this. I told a buddy that Diggs and Maye found their mojo together last week and would upset the Bills tonight. It didn’t happen the way I thought it would though. European here. This was literally my first time watching a whole game of football. I heard of Tom Brady, Patriots and Belichick but thats about it. So I was watching the game with a couple of buddies. One of them knows a lot more about the game and the teams, and prides himself on that fact. From the very beginning I was talking shit and saying Patriots would win it, pretending to know a lot more than I do. As the game is on the way and Falcons are dominating he was feeling quite secure in his superior knowledge of the game. Anyway, at 0 – 21, just before the half time, I predicted that Lady Gaga wouldn’t lip sync and would be awesome, that Patriots would make an epic movie worthy comeback and win the game, and that Tom Brady would be the hero.
